Professor Jack, sir? YOU ROCK!! April 24th, 2022 is when I found AmericasProfessor by doing my own research and I was fairly new to the insurance world.. didn’t know a thing about life insurance but I decided to go ahead with it and keep focus! First time I took the exam I failed by 8 points and the reason for me failing was because I didn’t study the State portion of the course…silly me, right? So I took a year hiatus from studying life insurance but I got back to it just this year in May of 2023! I studied for only two weeks.. TWO WEEKS! After setting up my appointment for the exam on Thursday, which was May 11, 2023, I passed my Life Agent exam on my second attempt with a 74%! I could’ve done better but however I’m satisfied and happy with what I accomplished! Thank you so much Professor!

I couldn’t imagine using any other pre-licensing course. Jack, you are a GOD SEND! I am so thankful. I passed my exam with an 86 on the first try. I probably flagged 20 questions total, and it wasn’t because they weren’t covered by Jack, I just couldn’t remember them.

Advice for people when taking the exam in 2023:
– They do not ask any questions about the legislature. (or at least on my exam)
– It’s important to really understand what liability means.
– Read the questions over and over because they really do try to trick you.
– Make sure you understand the HO policies and what they cover.

Most importantly, pray for discernment, patience, total recall, and retention!!!

You got this!!!

I took the Property/Casualty and Life/Health courses and passed both exams on the first try. I am pleased with the course and it’s content. The instructor provides illustrations that help you understand and remember the information. I am a 56 year old who has not studied anything for over 30 years. It was amazing! I recommend this course.

I passed my L&H exam today (88%) and my P&C exam last month (90%)…..BOTH ON THE FIRST TRY!!!… All thanks to Jack and his awesome support team 🙂
There were immense concepts to grasp but Jack made them pretty easy to understand with his funny examples😄
All I want to say at the end is “I am home free now” ( in Jack’s words) Nobody can contest me now on the exam front!

It took much longer for me to complete the course (compared to a week or two of intense studying) because of COVID and some other setbacks, but I am thrilled to say that I completed it and I passed the Texas exam on the first try! I am a learn-by-textbook type of person, but the videos after each chapter were very helpful. They helped me to focus on the key concepts and gave very clear explanations. The tests and exams were also great learning tools!

I grinded this class out in one week to be able to be licensed for a job that I had lined up. Jack covers everything and breaks things down that are difficult to comprehend just reading it once. He is an amazing teacher for these things and I took and passed the first try! I am going to be buying the Life and health now to be able to pass that test too! Thank you soo much Jack Morton!

AP PEOPLE PASS!!!!!

I used Americas Professor for both the Texas General Lines Property & Casualty and the Texas General Lines Life, Accident and Health courses and passed both exams on the first try. I could not have done it without the lecture videos; the way it was explained, and the examples used were great and really helped me learn the information, without them I do not think I would have passed the exams.

This was an amazing experience! I had initially took classes at “Texas Insurance Training Academy” unfortunately was no communication, was not able to succeed.
When I took classes for Americas Professor it was great communication, Pat assisted any of my questions almost immediately. I bought the bundle for the property and casualty with the life and health classes. I passed PC within 7 days, also passed my health within the 7 days. I just studied everyday watched the videos and did all my quizzes. I passed both on my first try! Definitely recommend theses classes.

America’s Professor is TOP tier. I pass my exam 1st try with a 92%. They have been so patient with me and my needs for extensions. The videos help with making the material easy to understand and Jack’s “little stories” help you to understand the finer concepts. Most of the test questions I saw on the exam where right out of this outline, which definitely help calm my test jitters. If there was a question or two that stumped me, I easily was able to narrow it down to 50/50 chance just by understanding the answers provided and knowing what they are referring to. If you follow these videos, highlight your textbook and take the review tests provided you will do just fine. The BEST thing I love about this study outline is that you can take the review tests over and over and if you find that a section or two has you stumped you can rewatch EXACT points and areas of the material without having to remember a timestamp in a 2 hour video. As the material is sectioned off into easy digestible chunks. 100/10 I will use America’s Professor again for any future courses. 🙂

How to Pass Your Insurance License Exam in Texas

Texas is experiencing a major population boom. People are moving to the Lone Star State from all over the country to find better job opportunities, affordable housing, and greater quality of life.

More Texans than ever need insurance products to protect their health, homes, cars, and families. This is great news for insurance agents and adjusters. There’s never been a better time to start a career in the lucrative insurance industry!

Keep reading to learn more about how to get your insurance license in Texas.

Insurance Exam Prep Courses

To sell insurance products in Texas, you need to be licensed. To get your license, you need to pass the insurance licensing exam.

Texas doesn’t require licensing candidates to complete pre-licensing education. But the Texas insurance license exam questions are challenging, and insurance is full of tricky concepts and unfamiliar terminology.

To give yourself the best chances of passing on the first try, enroll in an exam prep course through a reputable provider, like America’s Professor.

We offer the best insurance pre-licensing study solutions in the industry. America’s Professor has helped thousands of students prepare for their insurance licensing exam, and 95% of our students pass the test on the first try!

Our pre-licensing courses are designed for every learning style, whether you’re a visual learner or an auditory learner. We make it easy to understand and digest the material, and our expert presenter uses entertaining stories and relatable examples to help you make sense of complex insurance terminology and concepts.

America’s Professor offers a range of exam prep options in Texas, including single line, combo, and package courses.

How Many Questions Are on the Texas Insurance Exam?

The number of questions varies for each exam.

For example, the Texas Life exam has a total of 100 questions (85 questions plus 15 “pretest” questions, which do not count toward your score).

The Texas General Lines Property and Casualty exam has 150 questions (125 scorable questions plus 25 non-scorable pretest questions).
See the Texas test content outlines for more information about the number of questions on each exam.

What Score Do I Need to Pass?

The passing score is 70 for all Texas insurance exams.

Each exam has two parts—a “national” insurance section and a “state rules” section. While some states score each section separately, Texas mixes the scores together. This gives you an advantage since you only need a single score of 70 to pass.

Your exam will be scored on the spot, so you will know right away whether you passed. But you will not be told which questions you got right or wrong.

If you don’t pass on your first try, you can sign up to take the test again after a mandatory waiting period—usually 1-3 days.

There are testing centers all over Texas, from Amarillo to Dallas-Fort Worth to Corpus Christi. You can also take a proctored exam online at home. “Proctored” means someone monitors you through your computer’s webcam while you take the exam. Learn more here.

How to Study

You should set aside 35-40 hours to study for the exam. If possible, spend a full week studying, just as you would with an in-person exam prep class. If that’s not possible because you work or go to school, it’s still important to create a study schedule and stick to it.

Aim for at least 3-4 hours of study time each night for the two-week period before your exam date. Study right up until the day of the exam to keep the information fresh in your mind.

Don’t settle for low-quality “study guides” or practice quizzes online. These shortcuts simply do not provide all the information you need to pass. Instead, enroll in a comprehensive pre-licensing course through a reputable provider like America’s Professor.

Look for a course that:

  • Accommodates all learning styles – Look for a course that offers a combination of video lectures, practice quizzes, and a hardcopy textbook. This way you can study in the way that works best for you, at your pace, and on your schedule.
  • Offers responsive customer service – When you have questions or concerns, you need to be able to call or email for help. Look for a company with a dedicated customer support team. Ask how quickly they respond to voice messages and emails.
  • Has great reviews – Reading customer reviews is one of the best ways to get candid information about a company. Look for reviews that talk about the company’s customer service, pass rates, and how well they support students.
  • Is committed to your success – Look for a company that has been in business for many years or decades—one that prioritizes the customer experience and is dedicated to helping students do their best.
