I thoroughly enjoyed studying for my P&C exam. I took my time and I am pleased to report that I passed with 82 on my first attempt. Thank you! I couldn’t have done it without this program. Easy to follow, study aids, videos and books as well as practice tests. Well presented and definitely worth investing in for your insurance career. 5 out of 5 ⭐
I passed on my first attempt at the exam today thanks to how much this study material prepared me for the test. The videos were easy to follow along with. The texts were to the point. Lastly, the practice exams were very similar to the real test!
After taking and passing the national & state parts of the licensing exam on my first attempt, I have to say that there would be no way of having done so without the help of AP’s online course. It took me six weeks of viewing the videos (all the while following and highlighting), summarizing the info on my own notebook, reviewing notes before taking each chapters’ quiz, and then going over each quiz after taking them. I’ve been an educator for 31 years! Thus, I don’t know how all of the course material could be covered in three 8-hr, in-person, sessions as advertised. On a negative note, I emailed a concern/question about course material and have YET to receive a response. Other than that, if this old man can do it, so can you if you’re still on the fence about purchasing access to AP’s course offerings.
AP RESPONSE: Hi Elizandro, congrats on passing your exam! I asked the content team and it looks like our reply got stuck as a draft and didn’t get sent out but your question was moved to answered. Sorry about that! We usually are able to respond withing a few hours.
This course helped me prepare for the exam here in Texas. I don’t think I would have been able to pass without it. The courses were easy to listen to and the speed up feature was great. I passed my first time. Thanks Americas Professor!
The course was easy to follow and as engaging as it could be when talking about property and casualty insurance. I had an issue with the textbook being damaged in the mail and they immediately sent a new one, no questions asked. I was able to pass the test with a 93% on my first try! Using the practice exams helped a lot.
I had such a positive experience with this program that I wanted to take a moment to share. The best news is that I passed the exam on my very first try, and I believe that the way I approached my preparation made all the difference.
I started by watching the instructional videos, which were not only informative but also engaging. The presenter had a talent for breaking down complex material into clear, manageable concepts, which kept me focused and motivated throughout. As I watched, I followed along in the book and took detailed notes to reinforce the content.
After each chapter, I completed the corresponding practice quiz to check my understanding before moving forward. Once I finished the entire book, I revisited each section by taking the section quiz and then completed the final practice test to simulate the real exam environment.
This well-rounded approach—combining visual learning, note-taking, reading, and consistent review—helped me feel truly prepared and confident on test day. I’m incredibly thankful for the quality of the materials provided; they made studying not just effective, but enjoyable.
This is my second time going through America’s Professor and it is far and away the best course. Professor Morton does a great job at making a topic such as insurance enjoyable to learn about. I have passed both exams I have taken now on the first attempts.
Be aware, however, if you expect to pass your exam it is MANDATORY that you read the materials they send you.
Americas Professor helped me PASS my exam on the first try. Property and Casualty with Texas Insurance State Law.
All study material was easy to grasp in the delivery of educating an old foggy like me! It was easy to comprehend each chapter and with the Lecture Video’s that I could come back to and watch it really made a huge difference in comprehending everything about Insurance and State law.
Thank You Again.. I can’t begin to compliment Americas Professor enough that helped set me on a new career path!
The class is excellent. I highly recommend it. I live in Texas and just got out of the test. Scored a 90.
I watched the videos for a week. Read the book for a week and took exams and then spent eight hours on Saturday and Sunday each last weekend took the test on Monday.
It can be tricky my test mainly had definitions and CGL, but no marine no inland marine, barely any business auto and only a few questions on homeowners.
AP RESPONSE: Nice job passing with a great score! Each time you take the exam it can focus on different questions so it’s important to study all of the material just in case…
I have passed the exam. I am appreciative of the stories which helped me to remember the content. I will recommend Americas Professor to anyone who is interested in taking the exam. I have dyslexia and sometimes things don’t quite stick however I have made it. Thank you for the classes.
I got 96 (when I only needed 70) to pass the exam. Thanks to Professor Morton’s knowledge base and some memory tricks, I was able to finish and ace the test with barely more than half the allotted time. He clarified all key concepts that I need to know and allow me to pick the right choices quickly.
One other note on a small thing, it’s very nice that they included highlighters and pens in the book package. It’s a small touch that makes a big difference to me. I didn’t have to run to a store to find those pens, and I am ready to study right away.
If you are on the fence about whether you should give America’s Professor a try, just do it, and you won’t regret it.

Insurance Exam Prep Courses
To sell insurance products in Texas, you need to be licensed. To get your license, you need to pass the insurance licensing exam.
Texas doesn’t require licensing candidates to complete pre-licensing education. But the Texas insurance license exam questions are challenging, and insurance is full of tricky concepts and unfamiliar terminology.
To give yourself the best chances of passing on the first try, enroll in an exam prep course through a reputable provider, like America’s Professor.
We offer the best insurance pre-licensing study solutions in the industry. America’s Professor has helped thousands of students prepare for their insurance licensing exam, and 95% of our students pass the test on the first try!

America’s Professor offers a range of exam prep options in Texas, including single line, combo, and package courses.
How Many Questions Are on the Texas Insurance Exam?
The number of questions varies for each exam.
For example, the Texas Life exam has a total of 100 questions (85 questions plus 15 “pretest” questions, which do not count toward your score).
The Texas General Lines Property and Casualty exam has 150 questions (125 scorable questions plus 25 non-scorable pretest questions).
See the Texas test content outlines for more information about the number of questions on each exam.
What Score Do I Need to Pass?
The passing score is 70 for all Texas insurance exams.
Each exam has two parts—a “national” insurance section and a “state rules” section. While some states score each section separately, Texas mixes the scores together. This gives you an advantage since you only need a single score of 70 to pass.
Your exam will be scored on the spot, so you will know right away whether you passed. But you will not be told which questions you got right or wrong.
If you don’t pass on your first try, you can sign up to take the test again after a mandatory waiting period—usually 1-3 days.
There are testing centers all over Texas, from Amarillo to Dallas-Fort Worth to Corpus Christi. You can also take a proctored exam online at home. “Proctored” means someone monitors you through your computer’s webcam while you take the exam. Learn more here.
How to Study
You should set aside 35-40 hours to study for the exam. If possible, spend a full week studying, just as you would with an in-person exam prep class. If that’s not possible because you work or go to school, it’s still important to create a study schedule and stick to it.
Aim for at least 3-4 hours of study time each night for the two-week period before your exam date. Study right up until the day of the exam to keep the information fresh in your mind.
Don’t settle for low-quality “study guides” or practice quizzes online. These shortcuts simply do not provide all the information you need to pass. Instead, enroll in a comprehensive pre-licensing course through a reputable provider like America’s Professor.
Look for a course that:
- Accommodates all learning styles – Look for a course that offers a combination of video lectures, practice quizzes, and a hardcopy textbook. This way you can study in the way that works best for you, at your pace, and on your schedule.
- Offers responsive customer service – When you have questions or concerns, you need to be able to call or email for help. Look for a company with a dedicated customer support team. Ask how quickly they respond to voice messages and emails.
- Has great reviews – Reading customer reviews is one of the best ways to get candid information about a company. Look for reviews that talk about the company’s customer service, pass rates, and how well they support students.
- Is committed to your success – Look for a company that has been in business for many years or decades—one that prioritizes the customer experience and is dedicated to helping students do their best.

I absolutely loved this course! I passed this Test as well as my Life and Health text the first try! I have never really been good at test taking and was sure I would have to take the test at least one more time but I passed with flying colors! As long as you buckle down and really absorb the knowledge you will do great! I recommended this course to three other new hires and only one had to retake the test but she said she learns better in a classroom setting and if his classes were taught in Texas she would have loved to go. I will definitely continue to refer this course to everyone looking to get their Insurance Licenses!
