FAQs
Georgia is one of only a handful of states that requires you to take a state-approved pre-licensing course before taking your adjuster exam. Pre-licensing courses cover the basics on insurance, as well as information about claims adjusting, state laws and mandates, and professional ethics.
You must complete this 40-hour course and show proof of completion to register for your exam.
AP’s state-approved Georgia Adjuster pre-license course is a combo course designed to help you prepare for and pass either the Georgia Adjuster or the Georgia Public Adjuster licensing exam.
Whether you want to work as an independent adjuster, a staff adjuster, or a public adjuster, our combo course will teach you everything you need to pass your specific exam. It’s a thorough course that we update regularly with the latest information.
When you sign up for our Georgia Adjuster course, you’ll get instant access to our streaming lectures and practice quizzes. We will also mail you a hardcopy textbook to complement the online material.
In addition to completing at least 40 hours of study time, you must complete all of AP’s chapter quizzes with a score of at least 70% to get your pre-licensing certificate of completion.
The State of Georgia requires students to complete an approved 40-hour Property & Casualty course (includes Adjuster & Public Adjuster supplement) and then pass the Adjuster exam you wish to be licensed for. If you have an active certificate of completion from your P&C course, you can go in and test for Adjuster. Just know you will be retested on all of the P&C material, plus Adjuster material.
If your certificate is past a year old (expired), you will need to take the course over again to earn a new certificate. If you are an America’s Professor student who took our GA P&C course, and have an active certificate from AP, send us an email and we will reopen your course to study.
Please Note: Some Adjusting companies will require that you retire your Property & Casualty Producer license as it can create a conflict of interest. Be sure to check with the companies you are going to work with.
Not exactly. However, our goal is for your educational experience to be a positive one! If you are dissatisfied with your pre-licensing course, please let us know as soon as possible. We will make it right. If you haven’t started your course and return the book unmarked in new condition, we will provide a full refund. *Refunds will be credited to the original payment method.
If you are unable to pass the exam within your course subscription time, send us an email or give us a call at 1-800-870-3130 and we will extend your subscription for free until you pass. If you are not successful on your first exam attempt, email us your failed exam report and we can provide customized study recommendations and guidance for your next attempt. Please only send these reports in if you have completed your course 100%. We will not provide recommendations if you have not completed your course.
We are committed to getting you through the insurance licensing exam!
If you don’t pass your exam, please send us a copy of your fail report to info@americasprofessor.com. Our Content Specialists will gladly take a look at your score report and make recommendations on which chapters to study given your areas of weakness on the report. Please only send these reports in if you have completed your course 100%. We will not provide recommendations if you have not completed your course.
If you purchase a course for yourself, you will have instant access right after your purchase. You will start with an initial 100-day subscription. If you need more time to pass your exam, you can request a free course extension.
If you are purchasing a course for someone else (option selected during checkout), access to that course begins when you start it. If you are an employer or purchaser who bought courses for someone else, you will use the “Manage Licenses” area to send out course invitations. Once your student accepts the course invitation, they will be enrolled into the course with an initial 100-day access period. If they need more time to pass their exam, they can request a free course extension.
Here’s the deal … America’s Professor TEACHES the content students need to know to pass their license exam. The lecture videos are the heart and soul of our courses. We only use questions as a tool to gauge how well students understand the material they have been taught. Chapter quizzes, on average, have around 20 to 40 questions. After each chapter, we get one chance to test your knowledge to see what you know. The first time you take a quiz gives you a pretty accurate assessment of how well you know the information in that chapter. If you scored 50% you probably know 50% of the content in that chapter (better go back and rewatch the lecture videos!).
Memorizing the answers to the questions you got wrong and then retaking the quiz doesn’t mean you know and understand the content you missed. You will fail the license exam if you simply just try to memorize questions. Their questions will always be differently worded but over the same content. Knowing the content well enough to be able to teach it to someone else is the best way to prepare for your exam. Please trust our proven path to success.
Please Note: Georgia requires Adjusters and Public Adjusters to complete a GA Property & Casualty (PC) in order to sit for those Adjuster’s exams. This course will include a Property & Casualty manual, Georgia State law manual, and Supplemental Adjuster’s material in order to fully prepare you for the Adjuster’s exam.

How to Get Your Insurance Adjuster License in Georgia
Whether you want to become a public insurance adjuster or work on behalf of an insurance company as a staff adjuster, you first need to get the appropriate license.
- Public adjusters work on behalf of the insurance customer (i.e., the public).
- Staff adjusters work on behalf of a specific insurance company or firm.
- Independent adjusters work as a contractor for multiple insurance companies or third-party administrators.
All insurance adjusters assess property damage after an event like an accident or natural disaster. Adjusters also interview claimants and witnesses, and they often perform additional research in the course of their work, such as reviewing police reports.
The main difference between the various types of adjusters is who they advocate for and how they get paid.
Staff adjusters and independent adjusters require the same type of license (Exam Code 24), while a public adjuster has a different license designation (Exam Code 20).
How To Pass
How To Pass
Both Georgia adjuster licensing exams (Adjuster and Public Adjuster) have a total of 100 questions. There are two parts to the exam: a national section that covers general information, and a state-specific section that deals with laws and regulations in Georgia. You need a score of 70 to pass.
The information on the exams is challenging, and the material covered is not common knowledge. Following AP’s course study guide (included with each course) will give you the best chances of passing your exam on the first try.
Here is what AP recommends, based on our decades of experience:
- Watch all course lectures in order while highlighting and taking notes on our instructor’s key points to remember. Replay any videos you didn’t understand.
- Understand the content well enough to score at least 90% on chapter quizzes. Your first attempt at a quiz will tell you how well you are comprehending the materials.
- Take your state exam as soon as possible after completing the course. The longer you wait, the more you will forget.
- Check for course updates before testing.

I purchased the GA P&C for a Public Adjuster course. To preface I did an in person 5 day 8hr class just after March 2020 hit. The amount of information to retain, needed to pass the test just isn’t for everyone in a short span. So this go around I decided the self guided at your own pace course is the way to go. This was literally the best decision to make and wish I had back in 2020. I took 2 weeks to go through the material chapter by chapter. At the end of each chapter there are quizzes that help you know when you misunderstood the insurance thought process, coverage’s, and policy types. These quizzes are the key to the section review which then go into the final exam. If you are honest with yourself and the material without cheating yourself on the answers to get through it, you will PASS the first try on your exam. I did. So I must give a great thank you for making this material easy to digest , understand from the agent/carrier/state/lawful perspective, and providing an easy to use platform with similarities to what the actual test will look like and contain. This course by America’s Professor is WIN in a big way.
I would absolutely recommend this course! You learn exactly what you need to know to pass the exam. The instructor Dr. Morton, is extremely knowledgeable regarding insurance. He presents the enormous amount of information we must cover to pass the exam, with an easily retainable delivery. I had life happen to me several times throughout my journey to becoming an Adjuster, which required me to need more time to extend my course. The staff at Americas Professor were extremely supportive, encouraging and empathetic. They have an immaculate response time should an issue arise and need assistance. I took my exam on 5/25/2024 and I PASSED ON THE FIRST TRY!
I want to thank Jack Morton and Shelly for helping me pass my Ga Adjuster test today. Have to admit I took over 2.5 years to finish the course because of personal and work items. The videos were great, with Jack having a decent sense of humor and letting us know what really was going to be on exam, not a bunch of fluff. Time to start my second career at 60!
Thanks again, Paul L.
This course really help me pass the adjuster exam and the PUBLIC ADJUSTER EXAM. also passed the PROPERTY AND CASUALTY EXAM. IF ANYONE WANT TO PASS PLEASE TAKE THIS COURSE IT’S AMAZING . THIS COURSE CHANGE MY LIFE .. THANK U SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!
I want to thank the professor and the whole team that was in charge of getting this material together.
I had great experience with this course. Both the videos and the textbook were helpful through the whole course.
I had a great time taking this course and I will highly recommend it.
I was able to pass my Exam in the first attempt to become a public adjuster in GA.
Thanks again and I will definitely will come back to take another courses.
I signed up for the Georgia Adjuster course on 12/15/23, completed the course on 12/31/23, took the state exam on 1/22/24, and passed! Jack Morton’s teaching style is nothing short of amazing! The way he weaves unforgettable, funny stories into his lessons (I’ll never forget Cousin Eddie!) really helped me recall the information I needed on the exam. I would pay for this course again just to have continued access to all this great information and videos. It’s worth every cent! Thanks, Professor Jack!
