I want to get my Property and Casualty license. How do I get started?

First, check with your state’s insurance department to see if there are any insurance pre-licensing requirements before you take the licensing test. Some states have a pre-licensing course requirement. Georgia is one of these states (as of 2024).

Check with your insurance department for a list of approved courses that meet a certain hour and education requirement. If you plan to take a course through America’s Professor to fulfill your state’s pre-licensing requirement, make sure America’s Professor is on their list of approved courses (you can also call to verify).

If you have already fulfilled your state’s insurance pre-licensing requirements by taking a different course and only wish to take our course as “test prep,” that’s okay too. We have many students who use our practice exams and/or course videos purely as supplemental material to another course they have taken.

While most students live in states that do not require any type of insurance pre-licensing education, states that do require pre-licensing education make education providers go through an approval process. America’s Professor continues to go through this process state-by-state so please check back to see if we have added any new courses for your state.

After you have finished our pre-licensing course (scoring at least 90% on your review quizzes), we recommend that you take your state’s insurance license exam as soon as possible. Don’t confuse our course’s final exam with your state licensing exam.

We recommend calling your state’s testing provider (Pearson VUE, as of 2024) and setting up your exam time over the phone. This state-specific information is provided in much more detail inside your course under the “Licensing Exam Information” section. You can also review the Georgia Insurance Licensing Candidate Handbook for more information.

Does America’s Professor have a guarantee?

Not exactly. However, our goal is for your educational experience to be a positive one! If you are dissatisfied with your pre-licensing course, please let us know as soon as possible. We will make it right. If you haven’t started your course and return the book unmarked in new condition, we will provide a full refund. *Refunds will be credited to the original payment method.

If you are unable to pass the exam within your course subscription time, send us an email or give us a call at 1-800-870-3130 and we will extend your subscription for free until you pass. If you are not successful on your first exam attempt, email us your failed exam report and we can provide customized study recommendations and guidance for your next attempt. Please only send these reports in if you have completed your course 100%. We will not provide recommendations if you have not completed your course.

We are committed to getting you through the insurance licensing exam!

What if I fail my exam?

If you don’t pass your exam, please send us a copy of your fail report to info@americasprofessor.com.

Our Content Specialists will gladly take a look at your score report and make recommendations on which chapters to study given your areas of weakness on the report.

Please only send us your fail report if you have completed your America’s Professor pre-licensing course 100%. We cannot provide recommendations if you have not completed your course.

When does course access begin? How long do I have access?

If you purchase a course for yourself, you will have instant access right after your purchase. You will start with an initial 100-day subscription. If you need more time to pass your exam, you can request a free course extension.

If you are purchasing a course for someone else (option selected during checkout), access to that course begins when you start it. If you are an employer or purchaser who bought courses for someone else, you will use the “Manage Licenses” area to send out course invitations

Once your student accepts the course invitation, they will be enrolled into the course with an initial 100-day access period. If they need more time to pass their exam, they can request a free course extension.

What is the best way to ensure I pass my Property and Casualty license exam on the first try?

To give yourself the best chance of passing the exam on your first try, you should enroll in a comprehensive Georgia Property & Casualty pre-licensing course. Then put yourself on a strict study schedule.

Don’t assume single-line exams (such as Property only) will be easier. The insurance industry is full of tricky concepts and jargon. Memorizing answers to practice questions is not enough. You need to understand the material.

A quality exam prep course, like the courses offered by America’s Professor, will arm you with everything you need to know to pass the exam.

Do I have to take a pre-licensing course in Georgia?

Yes, the Georgia Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner requires anyone who wants to get their Property and Casualty license in GA to first complete a pre-licensing education course. You must complete this course before you can register to take the state licensing exam. You may also be required to show proof you have completed a pre-licensing education course when you register for your exam.

Make sure to enroll in a quality Property and Casualty license GA course with good reviews—like the courses America’s Professor offers. Our courses provide all the information you need to pass your exam on the first try. We provide the materials. You put in the study time.

Can I get assistance if I have questions during the course?

Yes! America’s Professor can answer any questions you might have about the course material or best practices for studying.

Contact us by email or by phone from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm MST, Monday through Thursday (email support only on Friday).

If you have a question after hours or on weekends, email us at info@americasprofessor.com, and someone will respond within 24 hours (on the next business day).

How long will it take to complete the course?

For single-line courses (such as Casualty only), you should plan to spend 20 hours studying. For combo courses (such as Property & Casualty), plan to dedicate at least 35-40 hours to studying. This is the amount of time most students need to complete the course material and absorb the information.

If you’re searching for a “40-hour property casualty pre-licensing course Georgia,” our combo P&C course for Georgia meets this requirement.

America’s Professor will send you a hardcopy textbook to complement the online material. You can highlight sections and take notes in the textbook to aid your studies. Many students also find it helpful to create flashcards. Research shows that the physical act of writing down information reinforces learning.

Can I access the course on my mobile device?

Yes, our streaming videos are available 24/7 on any device. Whether you plan to study on your lunch breaks at work, between classes, or at the library on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop, you’ll be able to access our courses anytime. All you need is internet access.
