FAQs
First, check with your state’s insurance department to see if there are any insurance pre-licensing requirements before you take the licensing test. Some states do not have a pre-licensing course requirement, but some do. Those states that do require a course typically have a list of approved courses that meet a certain hour and education requirement. Make sure that if you are taking this course to fulfill your state’s pre-licensing requirement that America’s Professor is on their list of approved courses (you can also call to verify). If you have already fulfilled your state’s insurance pre-licensing requirements by taking a different course and only wish to take our course as “test prep,” that’s okay too. We have many students who use our practice exams and/or course videos purely as supplemental material for their other course.
While most students live in states that do not require any type of insurance pre-licensing education, states that do require pre-licensing education make education providers go through an approval process. We continue to go through this process state-by-state so please check back to see if we have added any new courses for your state.
After you have finished our pre-licensing course (scoring at least 90% on your review quizzes) it is recommended that you take your state’s insurance license exam as soon as possible. Don’t get your state’s insurance license exam confused with our course’s final exam. We recommend calling your state’s testing provider and setting up your exam time over the phone. This state specific information is provided in much more detail inside your course under the “Licensing Exam Information” section.
Not exactly. However, our goal is for your educational experience to be a positive one! If you are dissatisfied with your pre-licensing course, please let us know as soon as possible. We will make it right. If you haven’t started your course and return the book unmarked in new condition, we will provide a full refund. *Refunds will be credited to the original payment method.
If you are unable to pass the exam within your course subscription time, send us an email or give us a call at 1-800-870-3130 and we will extend your subscription for free until you pass. If you are not successful on your first exam attempt, email us your failed exam report and we can provide customized study recommendations and guidance for your next attempt. Please only send these reports in if you have completed your course 100%. We will not provide recommendations if you have not completed your course.
We are committed to getting you through the insurance licensing exam!
If you don’t pass your exam, please send us a copy of your fail report to info@americasprofessor.com. Our Content Specialists will gladly take a look at your score report and make recommendations on which chapters to study given your areas of weakness on the report. Please only send these reports in if you have completed your course 100%. We will not provide recommendations if you have not completed your course.
If you purchase a course for yourself, you will have instant access right after your purchase. You will start with an initial 100-day subscription. If you need more time to pass your exam, you can request a free course extension.
If you are purchasing a course for someone else (option selected during checkout), access to that course begins when you start it. If you are an employer or purchaser who bought courses for someone else, you will use the “Manage Licenses” area to send out course invitations. Once your student accepts the course invitation, they will be enrolled into the course with an initial 100-day access period. If they need more time to pass their exam, they can request a free course extension.
Here’s the deal … America’s Professor TEACHES the content students need to know to pass their license exam. The lecture videos are the heart and soul of our courses. We only use questions as a tool to gauge how well students understand the material they have been taught. Chapter quizzes, on average, have around 20 to 40 questions. After each chapter, we get one chance to test your knowledge to see what you know. The first time you take a quiz gives you a pretty accurate assessment of how well you know the information in that chapter. If you scored 50% you probably know 50% of the content in that chapter (better go back and rewatch the lecture videos!).
Memorizing the answers to the questions you got wrong and then retaking the quiz doesn’t mean you know and understand the content you missed. You will fail the license exam if you simply just try to memorize questions. Their questions will always be differently worded but over the same content. Knowing the content well enough to be able to teach it to someone else is the best way to prepare for your exam. Please trust our proven path to success.

How To Pass
How To Pass
The information on the exams is challenging, and the material covered is not common knowledge. Following AP’s course study guide (included with each course) will give you the best chances of passing your exam on the first try.
Here is what AP recommends, based on our decades of experience:
- Watch all course lectures in order while highlighting and taking notes on our instructor’s key points to remember. Replay any videos you didn’t understand.
- Understand the content well enough to score at least 90% on chapter quizzes. Your first attempt at a quiz will tell you how well you are comprehending the materials.
- Take your state exam as soon as possible after completing the course. The longer you wait, the more you will forget.
- Check for course updates before testing.

I cannot say enough good things about this course. I was so concerned about passing and I stressed myself out the entire time. That being said, Mr. Morton did amazing at presenting the information to make sure you pass. I watched every video and he gives so many funny stories that allow your brain to hold onto the information. I found myself at one point laughing during the test because the answer reminded me of one of his stories with him and Nancy. I studied for 10 days and passed with a 91 on my first attempt thanks to this course!!
I passed P&C on the first try. A few years later I decided to try for the life, accident and sickness portion of the insurance exam. But I decided to take the test right after a major car accident and was not able to pass the test. I tried a few more times directly after and America’s professor offered review of missed information on the previous test. I was discouraged by my own knowledge and not being able to retain information, but this was not a direct representation of what America’s professor was to me. They opened the test numerous times for me to try again and finally this year I was able to pass the test. I am grateful that they offered the assistance and the flexibility to keep trying.
I passed Idaho Property and Casualty on my first try in under 4 weeks using America’s Professor. The videos were invaluable! Repeating the practice quizzes was also very helpful in preparing for the real tests. I highly recommend AP!
America’s Professor fully prepared me for my Insurance Exam, and I passed with flying colors my first try!
I want to take the time out to thank Mr Jack for all the info that was well put together! I had a very hard time before this course, I took the GA exam 2 times and failed. Got this course and passed my 3rd time!!! Oh not to mention they give you 2 hours for the test I finished with confidence in just 40 mins. The video lectures are key. The course helped me start a new career thank you so much.
The team at America’s Professor was better than I could have hoped for. Over the last few years there have been many things that got in the way of me completing the Kansas life and health course as planned, but their team was always very helpful and very understanding. I was allowed to extend the course when I needed to do so, and I truly appreciate the humanity and consideration that was shown…it made all the difference.
I was able to follow the suggestion given and complete the course in 5 days. I did have to wait almost two weeks to take my exam, but I passed on the first try! I know the online course and written materials helped give me the confidence I needed to be successful. The course contained the most up-to-date information, and it was conveyed in a way that was understandable, and even comical at times.
I wish everyone much success at America’s Professor. Your program and team are the best!
I passed my Life and Health exam on the first try, and I owe a huge thank you to Jack and America’s Professors! The material was super easy to follow, and the practice questions were incredibly similar to the actual exam. If you are looking for a sign to take this course, this is it! 100% recommend!

I’d like to start by saying I did pass the test on my first try which is probably the most important factor to me about this whole process. I took the Missouri Property and Casualty Licensing Exam. The Pearson Vue exam was brutal. I have several designations in my field as an underwriter and have taken many tests and this by far was the worst one I have taken in my almost 10-year career. While the material was helpful in building general and overall knowledge of P&C insurance, it did not prepare me very well for the test questions. I do not know how Jack could have done things differently though just due to the sheer structure of the questions and how tricky the exam is with wording. The test is repetitive and they try and trip you up on purpose. The state specific question is very important, and Jack did a great job of covering that material in detail. I was able to study and pass within the first 30 days after purchasing the material. I would focus heavily on HO forms, bonds, worker’s comp, and additional coverage knowledge before taking the exam. Overall, Jack was entertaining and made the material make sense with his examples. It sounds like Nancy keeps him in line and he needs to set some boundaries with Cousin Eddie but other than that, great job!
