Failed the Georgia Life, Accident and Sickness (Health) Insurance Exam?

For most of our students failing part of the insurance exam doesn’t happen very often, but when it does, we tell our students to brush up on all of their material but to spend a little extra time on certain chapter materials to help pass the exam on their next attempt. First, we need to know a couple of things before we can give a recommendation on which chapters to spend a little extra time on.

  • What part of the exam did you fail? Each insurance exam (Life and Accident & Sickness) is made up of two sections, national and state.  Knowing which exam and section you failed is the first step to figuring out what went wrong. Be sure to have your failed test score sheet from the test center that reveals your scores.
  • Did you fail the Life Exam? If you did not pass the Life Exam we need to know if it was the national or state section that gave you trouble.
    • Failed Life – National Section: Typically, if a student fails the national portion of the Georgia Life Exam they have had trouble in one of the following areas:
      1. Types of Polices – Students often have a difficult time remembering the differences between the various life policies and annuity policies. Make sure you are scoring at least 90% on our review questions for Chapters 8, 9, 10, 14, 19, 20, 22.
      2. Policy Riders, Provisions, Options, and Exclusions – If you are having trouble with this section of the exam please pay special attention to Chapters 11, 12, 13. Again, if you purchased your course from America’s Professor, we are here to help so give us a call 800-870-3130.
      3. Completing the Application, Underwriting, and Delivering the Policy – If you are having trouble with this section of the exam please pay special attention to Chapters 3, 4, 5, and 6.
    • Failed LifeGA State Section: The clear-cut solution here is to go over the state chapter again, videos and review questions.  Make sure to score at least 90% on your review questions.
  • Did you fail the Accident & Sickness (Health) Exam? If you did not pass the Health Exam we need to know if it was the national or state section that gave you trouble.
    • Failed Accident & Sickness – National Section: Typically, if a student fails the national portion of the Georgia Accident & Sickness Exam  they have had trouble in one of the following areas:
      1. Types of Polices –  Disability Income and Medical Expense materials regularly confuse people, these are the two chapters (33 & 26) that we tell students to study. Make sure you are scoring at least 90% on our review questions.
      2. Policy Provisions, Clauses, and Riders – If you are having trouble with this section of the exam please pay special attention to Chapters 24 & 25. Again, if you purchased your course from America’s Professor, we are here to help so give us a call 800-870-3130.
      3. Other Insurance Concepts – This is another tough issue to nail down because these concepts are covered in various places throughout your AP textbook.
    • Failed Accident & SicknessGA State Section: The clear cut solution here is to go over the state chapter again, videos and review questions.  Make sure to score at least 90% on your review questions.

Remember that you need to study all of your course material to be sure you’re ready for anything the exam throws at you. The next exam you take will not be the same as the one you failed.  There are a large number of questions in the testing center’s question bank to pull from so you will probably not see the same exact questions again. Give us a call if you have any questions, 800-870-3130.

Hello, I have fail the course 3 times and I have only one more try before I will have to wait a year before testing again. I do not test well. I have studied so much information and I am not retaining the information. The questions are different on the state test… or they read differently. I am struggling big time with the different types of policies that that have – it’s like I have a mental block. ‍♀️ I think for my last attempt I will take these test at differ time. I work very long hours except for… Read more »

Hi Tiffany, I can understand your hesitation to not want to test again. Our GA LAS course is primarily a video teaching course. We emphasize learning the material with the book and video, then verifying you understand the content with review questions. If you know the material, you should be able to answer the questions. The state questions are always going to be different but the content should be the same. If you think our teaching style would work well with your learning style please consider becoming one of our students. Let us know if you have any other questions.… Read more »
